This Summer, Cultivate C’ville wants to give you the opportunity to meet your urban farmers and gardeners to see how food is growing in our city. The tour will showcase urban agriculture efforts that are increasing access to fresh, nutritious, affordable, culturally-appropriate, locally-grown food as well as highlight ways for you to engage with our urban food system.

Our goals are to cultivate community around existing urban farms and gardens, share our stories and our skills, and to inspire the sprouting of new urban farms and gardens in Charlottesville!

“I have witnessed my garden become a tool for the education, a tool for the transformation of my neighborhood. To change the community, you have to change the composition of the soil. We are the soil… Gardening is the most therapeutic and defiant act you can do, especially in the inner city. Plus, you get strawberries. ”
